Connecting Texas Dog Lovers Through Information
Mission

At Texas Dog Magazine, our mission is to connect dog lovers across the Lone Star State with the best, most reliable information on all things canine. As passionate dog owners ourselves, we know that dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family. Our goal is to create a space where Texas dog lovers can find expert advice, trusted recommendations, and a community that shares their love for dogs. From the latest in pet health and training to spotlighting local events and extraordinary pups, we’re here to celebrate the bond between Texans and their dogs—one tail wag at a time.

Our History
Founded on July 4, 2017, by University of North Texas alumna Nealie Sanchez, Texas Dog Magazine was born from a deep love of dogs and a passion for storytelling. What started as a dream to connect Texas dog lovers quickly grew into a leading publication, publishing 18 magazines and thousands of online articles dedicated to pet health, training, events, and the best dog-friendly spots in the state.
From our first team meeting at The HUB LLC in 2018 to winning the 2019 Frank W. and Sue Mayborn Rising Star Award, Texas Dog Magazine has been built on dedication, creativity, and an unshakable love for dogs. In 2019, Nealie was honored with the Rising Star Alumni Award from UNT, solidifying TXDM’s impact in the publishing and marketing world.
Through every milestone, we've celebrated in style—including marking our anniversary by eating a slice of the Guinness World Record’s largest pepperoni pizza! Though the magazine took a brief pause, our love for this community and everything TXDM represents has never wavered.
Today, we continue to celebrate the incredible bond between Texans and their dogs—one story (and sometimes one giant pizza slice) at a time.

We actively engage with the Texas dog community through events, partnerships, and collaborations to foster a strong bond among dog lovers.
