Petmate and La-Z-Boy announce exclusive pet licensing agreement

Arlington-based Petmate announced March 20 at Orlando, Florida’s Global Pet Expo its exclusive pet licensing agreement with La-Z-Boy to launch the La-Z-Boy Pet collection, a news release said.

La-Z-Boy is known for its stationary sofas, sectionals, chairs and of world-famous recliners, while Petmate is known for providing fun, trusted, quality products that enhance the lives of pets and their families.

Together the two have crafted pet beds designed with the highest standards for lasting durability and engineered for premier style and comfort, the release said.

“This partnership exemplifies our commitment to deliver Petmate’s award-winning innovation and comfort to the bedding category, while highlighting the type of master craftsmanship and superior features you’d expect from La-Z-Boy,” Brad Kane, executive vice president of sourcing and new product development for Petmate, said in the release. “Now, pets and pet parents can Live life comfortably with pet bedding designed to fit in any room in the home.”

Petmate and La-Z-Boy are working hand in hand on the research and development of the new collection, which features premium details, luxurious fabrics and construction built to last.

“More than ever, pet parents are looking for quality products designed to match their home décor and personal style,” Doug Collier, chief commercial officer for La-Z-Boy, said in the release. “Petmate has a proven record of creating quality products, based on consumer insights and advanced trend research, making La-Z-Boy’s debut into the pet industry a smart and logical partnership.”

From small-scale cuddlers and loungers, to extra-large mattresses and sofas, pet parents can choose from a variety of sleep styles and color patterns to fit any home décor, the release explained. Some of the collection features Clean technology to help repel dirt, grime and accidents.

The La-Z-Boy Pet bedding collection will be available online and in pet specialty retailers Fall 2018.
